We have a lot of halogen down lights dotted around the house and being an electrician I have a rough idea what they are costing but recently got a watt meter and boy that makes you turn it off when written in £notes. I have started putting LED lamps in the downlights as they burn at 7 watts instead of 50 and the output is nearly the same.
